Hair pigment is dependent on the hair stage cycle. During the growth stage, the pigment is active. Other studies show this may be overstated. A global study including different ethnicities and geographical locations cites the range more in the <a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1111\/j.1365-2133.2012.11095.x\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">6-23% range<\/a>. Regardless, as you age pigment production decreases and grays begin to appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fun Fact: We often use the term \u201cturn gray,\u201d but the existing hair doesn\u2019t actually \u201cturn\u201d or change color.
